About this listen

Since its publication, Quidditch Through the Ages has been one of the most popular books in the Hogwarts library. Read by Harry Potter, Hermione Granger, and many more, it is the essential guide to the wizarding world's favourite game.

Charting its journey from Queerditch Marsh in the eleventh century to the sophisticated sport of today, Quidditch Through the Ages will show you the moments of exhilarating triumph and crushing despair (such as supporting the Chudley Cannons) that are part of the game of Quidditch.

Learn all about the history and rules of the game, from some of the 700 fouls (and which World Cup Final saw all of them committed) to the difference between a Transylvanian Tackle and a Woollongong Shimmy.

Narrated by People's Choice Awards Winner and BAFTA nominated Andrew Lincoln, best known for his role on The Walking Dead, the audiobook edition also includes more than an hour and a half of bonus content.

The audiobook edition includes more than an hour and a half of bonus content. This includes the history of the Quidditch World Cup Final and commentary on the 2014 World Cup Final from the perspective of Rita Skeeter (Annette Badland) and Ginny Potter (Imogen Church). This additional content was written by J.K. Rowling and is also available to read on wizarding world.com.

The shelves of the Hogwarts Library are also home to many more fascinating books. If you have enjoyed Quidditch Through the Ages you might want to check out some of its other treasures: Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them and The Tales of Beedle the Bard.

A great book with new content!

Quidditch matches were some of my favourite parts of the books and this short but great book gave me a history and trivia so great you could mistake it for being an actual sport being documented.

Andrew Lincoln had my attention from beginning to end while doing fairly good impressions of people being interviewed or quoted and both Imopen Church as Ginny Potter and Annette Badland as Rita Skeeter made the new content about the 2014 Quidditch world cup an excellent incentive to download this book even if you already have it, especially since in chapter 20 when we have cameos and a catch-up of what happened to Dumbledore's Army now grown up.

The sound effects caught me off guard at first but after just a few minutes I fell in love with them, they help create the atmosphere similar to the Star Wars Legends books.

Overall, definitely a great addition to the Harry Potter series, from Andrew Lincoln's narration to the new stuff starring Ginny and the fun facts of our favourite magical sport, give this a listen, you won't be disappointed one bit!

AMAZING! 2014 Quidditch World Cup bonus is magical

I was hesitant to listen to this as I thought it would be boring, but Andrew Lincoln brought it to life! However, hands down the best content is the bonus clip at the end (after the credits and charity information). I almost missed it, but I'm so glad I was driving so I couldn't turn it off.

It's basically Ginny Potter commentating on the 2014 Quidditch World Cup. It's dramatic, funny and highly entertaining, but the highlight is the Final game where Rita Skeeter joins the journalist box. Her sole attention is captured by her usual snobby and nosey comments on the renowned Dumbledore's Army who have attended the 2014 final game. Listening to her commentary along with Ginny's description of the game along with background cheers and jubilations, allow me to feel like I'm watching it on the big screen. It's a perfect reflection of the Goblet of Fire Quidditch World Cup scene.

A must for any Potter fan, the bonus bit is one of the best things I've listened to in a long time!

Escape Further into the Magical World

If you want to escape reality into the world of Harry Potter, this book is perfect. The imagination and creativity put into every line is superb. The escapism is pure. The storytelling is top notch.

It's easy to pick up, put down and come back to some time later, so you don't have to commit to listening non-stop. And repeating the book, you'll find little tidbits you missed the first time round.
