I LOVE ROSAMUNDE PILCHER
This story is perfect if you are stupidly busy and need something easy and pleasant to cheer you along in the midst of your everyday chaos! Fab story - wonderfully predictable, a brilliant mix of totally nauseating characters and absolutely delightful ones as well as some enticing surprises! Rosamunde Pilcher is a LEGEND!

A Lovely Rich Light Read
Enjoyable narrative with an interesting plot with a memorable cast of diverse characters. Really enjoyed this book. Would have loved to find out more about Flora's family and what happened after.

Reliably charming
Very reassuring and easy to listen to. A typical Rosamund Pilcher book. But she does it well.
For those of us of a certain age it takes us back to a more simple time. Very nostalgic.

Delightful
A lovely story - but the real joy was the narration. Different voices and accents for all the characters and a lovely tone. So very enjoyable.

A lovely escapist tale
For Pilcher fans this is another example of her tried and tested formula - a love story set in a remote location and populated (mostly!) with warm characters and with description enough to picture it all vividly. As a book to fall asleep to nightly and look forward to the next instalment next night it was a pleasure. The narrator was excellent.

Unexpected
I really enjoyed this book. Beautifully written to exactly portray the moral values, expectations and realities of the era it described. It felt wholesome, comforting and gently gripping.
