About this listen

Tegan is eight months pregnant, alone, and desperately wants to put her crumbling life in the rearview mirror. So she hits the road, planning to stay with her brother until she can figure out her next move. But she doesn't realize she's heading straight into a blizzard.

She never arrives at her destination.

Stranded in rural Maine with a dead car and broken ankle, Tegan worries she's made a terrible mistake. Then a miracle occurs: she is rescued by a couple who offers her a room in their warm cabin until the snow clears.

But something isn't right. Tegan believed she was waiting out the storm, but as time ticks by, she comes to realize she is in grave danger. This safe haven isn't what she thought it was, and staying here may have been her most deadly mistake yet.

And now she must do whatever it takes to save herself—and her unborn child.

A gut-wrenching story of motherhood, survival, and twisted expectations, #1 New York Times bestselling author Freida McFadden delivers a snowbound thriller that will chill you to the bone.

A Gripping Start with a Satisfying Ending

The beginning had me hooked right away—it jumps straight into the action, making me eager to see how everything would unfold. The middle did drag a bit at times as I was waiting for things to happen, but I think that was intentional, adding to the suspense and tension of the story.

As I neared the end, it felt like it might wrap up too quickly, but I was pleasantly surprised. The ending had more depth than I expected, tying everything together in a way that left me satisfied. Overall, a solid thriller.

Easy listen

I enjoyed this book and enjoy Frieda McFadden book. This wasn’t as good as other books by Frieda.
Still an enjoyable listen and easy to follow

Pleasant, not the best Freida book

I was in a reading slump and I love Freida’s books, they are easy to get through, this book defo defo ticked that box. I did enjoy the story, a bit predictable and OTT at times but I did like

Let down by the narration

It’s a good start to the story, but unfortunately I am not enjoying the narration, overly melodramatic. I might just read the book!

Not the best and a tad predictable

I love Freida’s books but having listened to so many they do tend to be a tad predictable. I knew from the outset what would happen when the car broke down. It’s a shame as I loved the Housemaid series. An ok listen but not the best.

It s really quite good

Enjoyable and interesting story. I listened to it over a few days, it was easy enough to follow but complex enough to stay engaged
