Good storyline but…

A good story, excellent characters but the narration as ever is poor. In addition some of the pronunciation mistakes are appalling. Surely there must be someone to correct the same mistakes time and time again. Having said that I shall listen to the next one and shout at the mistakes but continue. No wonder they are free

Sorry but the narration is awful.

I think I'm correct in saying Joy Ellis is a wonderful story writer. Why then does the narration have a Yorkshire accent despite this being set in the fens. Don't get me started on the Scottish and Irish accents too. The monosyllabic sound, come on please, how can this be deemed acceptable.
Dissapointed.

Enjoyable book - but the reader is dreadful

I found this book easy to listen to due to the good gripping story. However this reader isn't up to standard - her voice is harsh and abrasive and she mispronounces ordinary english words. It would be 5 stars if it wasn't for this.

A bit flat

The story was excellent but I must say that the narrator didn't do much for the character's, mono tone voices, bad accents and incorrect pronounciation of SOCO & carbine just made this a little flat for me.

A reasonable book spoiled by the narrator

I enjoyed this book but the narrators constant mispronunciations took the edge away for me. How on earth can you not know how to pronounce cagoule ?

Interesting story line.....narration dreadful.

Enjoyable story, despite dated police jargon.
Development of characters through the books has the feel good factor of meeting old friends.
The narration is the worst I have heard to date. Shrill ,galloping with the most awful accents. I'm not too sure I can bear book 4 on audible perhaps I'll read it on Kindle

Intriguing

Really enjoyed this intriguing story. Didn’t guess who the villain was till the end. Thought it was Stuart!!! Very good and well worth the listen.

Great book, but totally ruined by Narrator

I love Joy Ellis books and this story is no exception. However it was completely ruined by the narrator whose voices used for different characters was so similar I had no idea who she was meant to be. Also her pronunciation of many words was completely wrong. Horrendous narration I wish I had read the book for myself.
