About this listen
Bloomsbury presents ADHD Unpacked, an essential guide to surviving and thriving with adult ADHD, written and read by Alex Conner and James Brown, the hosts of the hit ADHD podcast, The ADHD Adults.
This audiobook features an exclusive bonus episode of The ADHD Adults podcast.
'Essential reading' Tom Watson
Think you have ADHD and looking for help?
Recently diagnosed and thinking, what now?
Looking to support and understand an adult with ADHD in your life?
From the hosts of The ADHD Adults comes this accessible, authentic and unfiltered guide to understanding adult ADHD. You'll find science-backed facts on what ADHD actually is, how it shows up in everyday life, personal reflections (sometimes painful, often hilarious) and tips and tools for coping.
Join Alex and James as they walk you through ADHD myth-busters (it's not a trend, technology doesn't cause it and medication can be effective - 80% of people who take ADHD medication think so!), the long-held perceptions of ADHD (did you know that it was once known as 'a defect of moral control'?!), to why intention and emotion regulation disorder might be a better name for it.
ADHD Unpacked is the relatable, reassuring and downright funny handbook you need to survive and thrive with ADHD.

An open and honest account of what ADHD is and what’s it’s like to live with ADHD from two people who have ADHD themselves
I loved this book! It’s an open and honest account of what ADHD is and what’s it’s like to live with ADHD from two people who have ADHD themselves. It covers the science behind ADHD as well as some personal reflections, which made the book easier to digest than if it had just been the science alone. I really loved the podcast bit at the end too! I found it really easy to listen to and have also bought the paperback so that I can highlight parts I want to remember (before inevitably forgetting that I did this!).

Amazing
This is all the information from your podcast all in one place, easy to understand and easy to listen to. Listening to this has confirmed to me what u already knew, that it is ADHD that I'm struggling with and need to find support. You 2 make a great team, I love listening to your podcast with Mrs AuDHD (not sure if I've written that right). You are all an inspiration. And being you true selves for us all to see allows is to have grace with ourselves to be human too.

Brilliant and insightful
Brilliant and insightful, highly recommend listening. As a fan of the podcast I was keen to listen to this and I was so glad I did. Really informative and of course snippets of the humour I’m used to hearing on the podcast. I really enjoyed the bonus podcast at the end. Thank you James and Alex for all you do to bring knowledge and understanding of ADHD to us all. You are amazing and I love your humour. Missed Mrs AuDHD but hopefully she can join you in the next book!

Such clear explanations
I have been diagnosed with ADHD as an adult myself and thought I had done a lot of research and understood my condition fairly well. Reading this book however has explained so many more details about myself that I didn't even realise were traits of ADHD and why I behave and react to situations the way I do. I wish I could get all of my family, friends and work colleagues to read it as it does a much better job of explaining me than I can do myself.

Best ADHD book by far!
Love these guys anyway but this book is hands down the best ADHD book I've read. The book is full of evidence based information and the writing is accessible, engaging and concise. The book doesn't sugar coat the challenges of having ADHD, maintaining a good balance between realism and hope.

Fantastic. Read it if you have any interest in ADHD.
I so looked forward to this audiobook, as my ADHD won't allow me to read many paper books.
If you have ADHD yourself, you'll find yourself nodding and shouting "Yes!" at various points.
I also laughed out loud at many points in the book (surprised they didn't throw me out of Tescos (other supermarkets are available))
Alex and James, thank you 🙂
Oh and if you've only bought the paper book, you need to buy the audiobook too, hearing it read by the authors is a treat.

excellent
James and Alex have done a stunning job, both writing and reading this work. I've managed to listen while playing spider solitaire, lying awake, and riding my exercise bike.
